Stari Grad Plain is a cultural landscape that has remained intact since the 4th century BC, when Ionian Greeks colonized it. The fertile plain in Croatia is the centre for growing grapes and olives in the country. The landscape of Stari Grad Plains features stone walls and shelters. They bear testimony to ancient land division as practised by the ancient Greeks. Stari Grad Plain was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site during the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee which was held in Quebec City, Canada on 2-10 July, 2008.
