San Alfonso del Mar, Algarrobo, ChileSan Alfonso del Mar in Algarrobo, Chile, is one of the world greatest sites for being the biggest swimming pool in the world. That's the same size as six thousand 8-meter long swimming pools! What makes San Alfonso all the more magnificent is the quality of its water, which is as crystal clear as any tropical seas. This is achieved by an advanced patented technology developed by its proprietor, Crystal Lagoon, which not only keeps the water as clear as glass, but also maintain the water temperature. Even in the coolest of winters, the water of San Alfonso del Mar keeps to around 26°C, a good nine degrees above that of the Pacific Ocean, just a stone's throw away.At San Alfonso, guests enjoy private beaches with their own boat docks within an artificial tropical environment, complete with white sand and swaying palm trees. On particularly cold days, guests can escape to the roofed beach to enjoy heated sand, bubble beds and water-jet massage. People who are taken away by the beauty of San Alfonso del Mar can purchase apartments there. The design of the resort is such that the apartment units afford a balcony with splendid views of the pool and the ocean. Beyond the artificial pool is the Pacific Ocean itself, and the beach of Algarrobo stretches for over two kilometers in either direction. Within the comfort of the San Alfonso del Mar resort, there's a whole range of recreational activities to fill up you day for many a days. Sports enthusiasts can sign up for class in sailing, kayaking, scuba diving, swimming, ocean navigation, golf, tennis, paragliding, among others. At their disposal are soccer courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, a 3D golf stimulator and a gym with view of the lagoon. Children and teenagers are not forgotten and entertainment activities are also arranged for them. For the tired bones, The Beach Club at San Alfonso offers a tempered beach under the glass pyramid, open-air jacuzzis, sauna, and the first medical spa in Chile.
