Landesmuseum Joanneum, now called Universalmuseum Joanneum, is oldest and second-largest museum in Austria. It comprises 20 departments and institutions located in separate buildings in Graz, Austria.
Landesmuseum Joanneum was founded by Archduke Johann in 1811, who bequeathed numerous items to the museum that is now displayed. The Old Gallery is located in the Baroque Schloss Eggenberg, 3 km to the west of the city centre. Here, you can find beautiful medieval paintings, the works of Cranach, Brueghel and Styrian artists of the 17th and 18th centuries.
