Côte d'Ivoire ratified the World Heritage Convention on 9 January, 1981. As of March 2010, there are just three properties in Côte d'Ivoire inscribed on the World Heritage List. All three are natural sites, of which two are listed in the List of World Heritage In Danger. Côte d'Ivoire has another four sites on the World Heritage Tentative List.
